Buena Vista Elopement Photographer

Hannah and Zach are true Ride or Dies. After our first conversation, I knew how much of themselves they wanted to weave into the details of their Colorado elopement. As a photographer, this made me fall in love with their story even further and excited to create for them. The two met in high school and have been inseparable since. They would be traveling from Missouri to elope and say, “I Do” in the mountains of Colorado.

We started their elopement afternoon in one of my favorite, little mountain towns called Buena Vista. We met at a souvenir shop so Hannah and Zack could have something to take home on their elopement day. It also served as an easy location to meet since cell service drops on the Cottonwood Pass. We chatted and took some photos outside a nearby bar to help them warm up to the camera - which they evidently did not need. Looking like they just stepped off a runway, Hannah’s dress was covered in mini pearls, hair tied up loosely in a big white bow and chunky heels to bring it all together. Zach rocked a fitted grey suit and some clean white Nikes. We could not wait to load up their bike in Zach’s truck and venture up Cottonwood Pass for the remainder of their elopement.

There are so many stunning spots to stop along the way up to the continental divide on Cottonwood Pass. Winding switchbacks, dark, tall green forest trees, and a breathtaking view at the top. Our final destination was the summit which is located at an elevation of 12,126 feet. There is a small alpine lake found at the very top where Hannah and Zach wanted to read their vows and exchange rings.

I had so much fun photographing this elopement because Hannah and Zach incorporated things that were undeniably them. Infusing your favorite hobbies and interests, does so much for your photo session. It puts you at ease - doing something you are good at provides familiarity and confidence when in front of the lens. It also provides depth, back story and insight into the kind of people you were at this point in your life. How lucky are Hannah and Zach to be able to look back on these photos and see their love for adventure and each other!
